Cedar Rapids Rampage News Release
Cedar Rapids, IA - In a game full of momentum shifts, the Cedar Rapids Rampage happened to be on the wrong end of the equation as time expired. The Rampage fell to the Waza Flo, a team that calls Flint, Michigan home, as Waza Flo forward Leonardo de Oliverira scored a go-ahead goal with twelve seconds remaining.
The game started off largely in the favor of the Waza Flo, as the team fired out to a four-goal lead in the twenty minutes of the match on goals from forward Ivan Campos, midfielder Ricardinho Sobreira, and defenders Thiago Goncalves and Costeau Decu. The Waza Flo held Cedar Rapids scoreless until the just over two minutes remaining in the first half as defender Patrick Kelly netted his first goal of the season.
Cedar Rapids would go on to take a 5-4 lead throughout the third quarter, largely in part to a hat trick by veteran MASL forward Neto. Rampage forward Alex Megson scored the final Rampage goal of the match in the first minute of the forth quarter.
The Rampage head to Milwaukee next Saturday, November 21 to take on the Milwaukee Wave (2-0). Cedar Rapids returns home Saturday, November 28 as they take on the Missouri Comets for their second contest of the season.
