Rampage announce new starting QB

February 11, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

Following Wednesday morning's practice, Rampage Head Coach Bob Cortese announced that Robert Hall will be the team's starting quarterback for this Saturday's game against the Colorado Crush. Hall will become the ninth QB in team history to start a game for Grand Rapids. In Sunday's loss to Chicago, Jeff Loots completed 11-of-19 passes for 87 yards with a touchdown and an interception before being relieved by Hall.

"I wanted to give Robert (Hall) a shot and see what he can do out there, said Cortese. "He's getting better with our system on every snap."

Hall led the AFL in nearly every passing category in 2000 for the Houston ThunderBears, when he set career highs for completions (325), attempts (496), passing yards (4,053) and touchdowns (64). He is also the only player in AFL history to post at 3,000 passing and receiving yards.

The Rampage resume practice Thursday morning at the Soccer Spot from 10:00-12:30pm and will host a Media Day/Meet the Rampage function for the public and media on Friday starting at 12:30pm from the Soccer Spot with Rampage owners, coaches and players available for media interviews and autographs with fans.

Tickets for Saturday's home opener are still available and can be purchased at the Arena box office, all Michigan Meijer location and at StarTicketsPlus.com.
