Rampage add Moore and Bowick
October 18, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
The Grand Rapids Rampage have announced that AFL veteran lineman Tony Bowick and Otis Moore have joined the team's roster to add over 20 years and nearly 270 regular season games of Arena experience and leadership.
After a three years way, offensive/defensive lineman Tony Bowick has returned to the Grand Rapids Rampage, the team he was a centerstone lineman from 1998-2001, including the ArenaBowl XV championship squad. 2005 will be Bowick's twelfth and final season in the Arena Football League. After the 2001 season with the Rampage, the former two-time All-American from University of Tennessee-Chattanooga played two seasons with the Chicago Rush and last season with the expansion Austin Wranglers.
"I'm coming home," said Bowick. "I left Grand Rapids after the 2001 season, but the Rampage is in my blood no matter who I was playing for. I still have the drive to play and hope to help the younger players on this team, but this will be my final season."
Moore has played in 130 straight AFL games dating back to his rookie season in 1994. He has played with the Charlotte Rage, New York CityHawks, New England SeaWolves, New Jersey Red Dogs/Gladiators, Colorado Crush, Buffalo Destroyers and Carolina Cobras. His 12 career forced fumbles rank fourth in AFL history.
Bowick was originally drafted in the 12th round of the 1989 NFL Draft by Atlanta and played two season with the Falcons and two more with the Birmingham Fire of the World League of American Football (now NFL Europe) before he began playing the indoor game. He started with the Charlotte Rage in 1993 and then became a member of the Albany Firebirds in 1996. In 1998, the Rampage traded their pick in that year's dispersal draft to the Firebirds for five players, including Bowick.
Moore has tallied 124.5 tackles, 18.0 sacks, five fumble recoveries and two interceptions in his eleven AFL seasons. He played four years at Clemson and recorded 113 tackles, nine sacks and earned All-ACC first team honors. His teams at Clemson claimed three conference championships and four major bowl victories.
