Columbia Inferno News Release

Columbia, S.C.- Inferno head coach and director of hockey operations Troy Mann announced today that Inferno captain Brad Ralph has been recalled by the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears. A native of Richmond, Ontario, Ralph was the second-leading scorer for the Inferno during the 2006-07 season, recording 54 points (20 goals, 34 assists) in 63 games. The center finished with eight power-play goals, 108 penalty minutes, and a plus-six rating on the year.

"I'm excited that Brad's getting the opportunity to experience the winning tradition of the Hershey Bears organization," Mann said. Hershey defeated the Milwaukee Admirals in six games to win the Calder Cup Championship last season, earning the franchise's AHL record-tying ninth championship.

"I think that it's important as captain of the Columbia Inferno that he uses this experience to bolster the dressing room heading into the 2007-08 season," Mann said.

In two seasons with the Inferno, Ralph has 107 points (47 goals, 60 assists) and 168 penalty minutes in 128 games. Ralph has played parts of five seasons in the ECHL, logging 147 points (65 goals, 82 assists) and 276 penalty minutes in 201 career games. In 66 games of previous AHL experience, Ralph has 25 points (seven goals, 18 assists) and 29 penalty minutes.

Ralph was originally selected in the second round, 53rd overall, by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
