Raleigh Rebels News Release

Raleigh NC - The Raleigh Rebels, a proud member of the American Indoor Football league, and head coach Steven G. Folmar are proud to announce their first signee's for the upcoming 2006 season. The Rebels have re-signed offensive/defensive linemen Jason Hall and Troy Bennett back from the Rebels squad of 2005. "I am really glad to be able to pick up a couple of big men early on in the signing process", said Folmar. "After looking at film from last year I just felt that the fact that both of these guys are solid athletes, can play center, and have good work ethics is only going to help us considering how hard it is to find decent linemen in this league."

Bennett (6'3", 345), an offensive tackle and nose tackle on defense, returns to the Rebels after giving up just one sack as a starter through out last season, despite playing in several games with a cast on a broken hand suffered in a pre-season game. Despite not playing college football, Bennett is not football inexperienced, having played 2 years in the Mason-Dixon Semi-pro Football league for the Fayetteville Roughriders. While with the roughriders Troy was an all-star both years at offensive tackle. He was also a 3-year all conference player at Tarhill High School where Troy played offensive line, defensive line, as well as being the team's kicker and punter.

Hall (6' 3", 285), was the Rebels starter at center and long snapper last year, and will also see time on the defensive line. Jason spent one year on the defensive line and as the team's long snapper at Concordia University in Wisconsin in 2001 before transferring to Eastern Carolina University where he was switched over to the offensive line. Jason, a Florida native, was all-conference, all-county and all-state both his junior and senior years at both inside linebacker (where he amassed 132 tackles his senior year) and offensive center while starring at Hollywood Christian High School in Hollywood, Florida.
