Halifax Rainmen News Release
The Halifax Rainmen avenged a season opening loss to the Moncton Miracles, dispatching their opponents with a dramatic 130-122 victory inside Scotiabank Centre on Thursday night.
From opening tip-off the game was played at a very high tempo, with the first quarter seeing Moncton take a 31-30 lead. A great effort on both offence and defence from the Rainmen saw them take a 67-57 lead into the half. Despite Moncton making a strong push in the fourth quarter the Rainmen were able to play strong defence and hold off the late charge.
Justin Tubbs led all Rainmen with 30 points in his debut game for the team. Emmanuel Jones put up 27 points and secured 12 rebounds to help his team down the stretch. The Moncton Miracles were led by Stanley Robinson with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Shawn Vanzant had 22 points with 4 rebounds for the Miracles as well.
The Halifax Rainmen will be back in action Sunday November 16th for a 2:00pm match up against the Saint John Mill Rats at the Scotiabank Centre.
