Rainmen Wash out Power, Set New NBL Canada Record

(HALIFAX, NS) The Halifax Rainmen set a new National Basketball League of Canada record for the most points scored by one team in a single game when they rallied to a whopping 34 point win over the Oshawa Power in front of 3,654 fans. The Rainmen now sit at an eight-game winning streak. The final score of the game was 133-99.

The leading scorer for the Halifax Rainmen was Lawrence Wright with 28 points, 18 of which came from the three-point line where he scored six of eight attempted. Tyrone Levett added 19 points in the win, while Eric Crookshank had 15. Chris Hagan and Taliek Brown added 12 points each.

Leading the Oshawa Power was Brandon Robinson with 21 points, followed by Tut Ruach with 14 and Omari Johnson with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The unofficial box score statistics can be found at www.dakstats.com.

The Rainmen will play their next game at the Halifax Metro Centre on Thursday, January 5 at 7:00 p.m. where they will face the Oshawa Power on their home court for the last time during the regular season.
