Halifax Rainmen News Release

(Halifax, N.S.) Halifax Rainmen owner Andre Levingston announced today the newest addition to the Rainmen roster; six-foot three, 185 lbs Point Guard Zachary Ramey from Flossmoor Illinois. "Zach worked out with Coach Lewis this past summer and he was high on our radar. Our impression of him was confirmed when we saw him play against us for Chicago during the Holiday Classic. Chicago hadn't yet signed him, so we did," said Levingston.

Ramey averaged 18 points per game with Oregon in the IBL last summer, and last year took an average of 14 ppg for the Rockford Fury in the PBL. As a senior at Benedictine University, Zack was named to the All Conference Team. He led the conference in assists averaging 6.0 per game along with 14 points and 5 rebounds. He led his team to a 21-7 record and a national ranking as high as 17.

"Zach will give us the added depth we need at the guard position. He's a great scorer, defender and ball handler," said Levingston.

The Halifax Rainmen's 2008-2009 season gets underway tonight in Quebec against the Kebs and tomorrow the team travels to Montreal to go up against the Sasquat'ch. The Rainmen's home opener is next Friday January 9th, 7pm at the Halifax Metro Centre.
