February 21, 2015 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Halifax Rainmen News Release
(Halifax, NS): The red hot Halifax Rainmen extended their winning streak to eight, knocking off the Missisauga Power, 118-99, in front of an enthusiastic crowd inside Scotiabank Centre.
Halifax revenged a loss earlier in the season by holding arguably the best 3 point shooter in the league, Omar Strong, to 15 total points on 2-4 from behind the arc.
The Rainmen improve to 18-12 on the season and still have their sights on a possible division title and 1st place in the Atlantic.
The Rainmen used a balanced attack to wear down the Power with Kevin Young leading the way with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Halifax had four other players in double figures: Liam McMorrow had his best offensive output with 21 points, Tyrone Watson and Cliff Clinkscales both chipped in 14 points each.
The Power were led by former Rainmen guard Malcolm Grant with 30 points, and Marcus Capers with a solid 22 points and 6 rebounds. Fans were treated to a special t-shirt giveaway by East Coast Lifestyle, sponsored by Alexander Keith's Brewery.
The Halifax Rainmen are back in action tomorrow 2PM at Scotiabank Centre when they take on Moncton Miracles.
