Victor RailRiders News Release

The RailRiders and Brewers finished one game and played a full second game on Monday night at Victor High School. Game one was a continuation of a game that started on 6/5 and was picked up on Monday in the bottom of the 7th. The RailRiders were able to win this game by a score of 5-0.

Victor got on the board in the 3rd inning when Dylan Swetman (LeMoyne College) walked and eventually came around to score on a Matt Fallon (Black Hawk College) Sac Fly.

The Riders would score again in the 4th as Brock Daniels (St. Ambrose University) led off the inning with a double. After Dale Wickham (Cornell University) walked, an error on the pitcher allowed Daniels to score and one batter later, Pete Carrier (Wofford College) grounded out to bring in Wickham.

Wickham would score another run in the 6th and Brady Acker (George Mason University) would add an RBI single in the 8th.

Mitch Patishal (University of Cincinnati) earned the win after pitching 5.0 innings of 1 hit baseball while striking out 6.

Jesse Bogacz (Kenyon College) and Dylan Swetman each pitched 2 innings in relief and each of them gave up 1 hit with 4 K's.

Game two was a much closer match, with both teams having plenty of chances to score.

Victor would finally break the scoreless tie in the bottom of the 6th, scoring 2 runs on 3 hits. Brady Acker and Mark Cardinalli (U.C. Davis) both singled to lead off the inning. Evan Fernandez (Jacksonville University) then brought home Acker with a Sac Fly and, after advancing to 3rd on a Drew Kissel (St. Catherines College) single, Cardinalli scored on a Chris Introcaso (College of St. Rose) Sac Fly.

Victor would tack on a run in each of the next two innings and take a 4-0 lead into the top of the 9th. Utica was able to score 2 runs in the inning before Chris Kemp was brought in to slam the door on the Brewer rally.

Luke Tomczyk (Monroe CC) earned his second win of the season after going 6.0 scoreless innings and fanning 8 batters.

Chris Kemp got the save after entering the game with 1 out in the 9th and retiring the two batters he faced.

Dale Wickham, Brady Acker, and Mark Cardinalli all finished with 2 hits while Acker added an RBI and a run scored.

The two teams won't meet again until 7/25, when Victor travels to Utica for a 6:35 Saturday night matchup against the Brewers.
