RailCats Send Five to All-Star Game

Gary, IN- The American Association announced the 2014 all-star teams today and the Gary RailCats will be sending five players to compete. Zac Mitchell, Danny Pulfer, Drew Martinez, Craig Maddox and Dustin Crenshaw were all named to the team.
Mitchell, currently hitting .259 with a .349 OBP and 14 steals, will start at second base. Pulfer will start at third base as he currently has a .322 batting average to go along with a .422 OBP and a team-high 37 RBI. Martinez will also be a starter in the outfield thanks to his .347 batting average, fifth highest in the American Association. Martinez has also stolen 14 bases while being caught just twice.
Maddox will be the backup catcher, coming off a very impressive six game road trip in which he went 6-16 with two home runs. Maddox is hitting .331 with a .385 OBP. Crenshaw is 6-4 with a 2.57 ERA, good for third in the league. His 87.2 innings pitched are second in the league, trailing teammate Morgan Coombs.
Greg Tagert will manage the north side, earning the honor with his team's American Association championship last season. The two day event will take place in Winnipeg with a fan fest and skills competition on Monday, July 28th and the game taking place the following day at 7:00 p.m.
