RICHMOND, VA (April 30, 2015) - The Richmond Raiders (2-4) look for their second victory over the Alabama Hammers (3-2) this season as they travel to Huntsville on Saturday. Earlier this season, the Raiders earned their first win of the season against the Hammers 60-45 at the Richmond Coliseum behind a monster second quarter in which they outscored Alabama 31-0. The Raiders are looking to bounce back from a disappointing road loss against the Nashville Venom last week.

When the two teams last met, Richmond was firing on all cylinders. Both the offense and defense came up with big plays when they needed to, securing the victory. The Raiders went into the locker room at half time with a 39-16 cushion, and never looked back. In total, the Raiders defense intercepted five passes and returned one for a pick six. Richmond will look to reignite that spark this week in the game.

Last week, the Raiders fell to the Nashville Venom 69-49 in Nashville. Turnovers plagued the team throughout the game, as they scored early in the first quarter and then not again until late in the second. With Nashville's early 22-7 lead, the Raiders dug themselves into a hole early that they were unable to escape from. However, in the second half, they did come within striking distance, but two consecutive pick sixes would prove to be their undoing.

Alabama experienced a similar fate last week as they fell to the Columbus Lions 74-53 in Columbus. For Alabama, WR Charles McClain hauled in eleven catches and was named honorable mention for the PIFL Offensive Player of the week awards. QB Garrett Sutphen comes into this week's game having completed 51 percent of his passes on the season.

This is the second of a three game road stand for the Raiders. The team returns home on May 23 when they again face the Trenton Freedom for McDonald's Night-Lovin' RVA. Tickets for all remaining home games start as low as $7 and are available on the Raiders' website, www.RichmondRaidersProFootball.com, or by calling 1-855-GO-RAIDERS or 804-780-0430. Additionally, fans can contact the Richmond Coliseum box office or visit ticketmaster.com.
