
Rahmatulla Awarded Topps Player of the Month

Jupiter, Fla- The Topps Company of New York, N.Y., in conjunction with Minor League Baseball, announced that newly acquired Palm Beach Cardinals infielder Tyler Rahmatulla was awarded May Topps Player of the Month for the Midwest League.
Tyler Rahmatulla, 22-year old from Irvine, Calif., hit .341 with three homers and 24 runs batted in for the Quad Cities River Bandits. The second baseman finished among the top 10 in the Midwest League in batting average, RBI, doubles (10), runs (20), slugging (.557) and OPS (.951). The St. Louis Cardinals selected Rahmatulla in the 34th round in 2011 out of UCLA.
Since joining the Palm Beach Cardinals on Monday night, Rahmatulla has hit in three straight games, picking up for hits and one RBI in 11 plate appearances. Rahmatulla and the Cardinals will begin the second-half of the Florida State League, as they host the Jupiter Hammerheads tonight at 6:35 p.m. at Roger Dean Stadium.
