Raging Tide End Losing Streak in Dramatic Fashion

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME- The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide break out of slump with a walk off hit by pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning, beating the Pittsfield Suns 6-5 Wednesday night. Boston Langley (Edmonton, ALB, CA/Rollins College) came to the plate with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth, and was plunked by a first pitch curveball to bring in the winning run.

Alex Tobey (South Berwick, ME/University of Southern Maine) pitched well in his first appearance for the Tide, after being acquired yesterday. Tobey went four innings, yielding just two hits, with one strikeout.

Sam Balzano (Portland, ME/University of Southern Maine) went 3-3 reaching base successfully five times on the night. Balzano now leads the team with a .297 batting average.

The Raging Tide will return to action at The Ballpark Friday, July 27 as they take on the Seacoast Mavericks at 6pm. The FCBL All Star game will be played tomorrow at Holman Stadium in Nashua, NH. Representing the Raging Tide will be Langley, Matt Verrier (Norway, ME/University of Southern Maine), Jason Vosler (West Nyack, NY/Northeastern University), Henry Van Zant (Westport, CT/Bowdoin College), and Adam Ogburn (West Panama City, FL/Rollins College).
