RiverCity Rage News Release
St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team begins a three-game homestand this Saturday as they welcome the Bloomington Extreme to the Family Arena. The Rage are coming off their first loss of the season as they fell to the Beef in Omaha, 41-15, last week. Though this game is the first of three for the Rage at home, RiverCity head coach Ken Stills doesn't want to look ahead.
"It's always a comfort to play at home," said Stills. "We don't have to worry about packing, bus trips or hotels. We can just play the game. I don't want to start thinking about being home for three weeks, though. We need to concentrate on playing the Extreme. We need to focus or efforts one game at a time."
The Rage (3-1) and Extreme (2-3) split their two meetings last season with each team winning in the other's arena. This season the teams are on complete opposite ends of the statistical landscape. The Rage are currently ranked first in the UIF in total defense and last in total offense while Bloomington is second in total offense and last in total defense.
Bloomington brings the top throw-and-catch duo in the league in quarterback Dusty Burk and receiver James Walton. Burk is second in the league in both passing yards per game (199.8) and touchdown passes (14). Walton leads the league in receptions (32), receiving yards (443), and receiving touchdowns (9). Stills knows that his defense has a tough challenge ahead.
"Bloomington is scoring 41 points a game," said Stills. "They have one of the top quarterbacks in the league as well as a top receiver. The way our defense played last week concerns me a bit. We can not come out and play like that and expect to even slow down their offensive attack."
Kickoff on Saturday is set for 7:00 at the Family Arena with the gates opening at 6:00, but make sure you get there early. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free Rage rally towel courtesy of Cottman Transmission. The Rage remain at home for the next two games as well. The Wichita Wild come to town on Saturday, April 19th and the Sioux Falls Storm come to the Family Arena on Saturday, April 26th. Great seats remain for all three home games with prices starting at just $5. To order your tickets call the Rage ticket office at (636) 896.4285 today.
