RiverCity Rage News Release
Loveland, CO - The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team lost for the seventh consecutive time this season with a 32-30 defeat at the hands of the Colorado Ice. The crowd of 2,501 at the Budweiser Events Center saw the home team improve to 4-6 on the season.
RiverCity was trailing by 8 points with less than two minutes to play and quarterback Pee Jay Jack scampered in for a two-yard touchdown run with one minute and forty seconds remaining in the game. However, the two point conversion failed as did the on side kick attempt and the Rage comeback attempt was halted.
Special teams were a major factor for the RiverCity Rage as UIF Special Teams Player of the Week Hurtis Chinn was dominant again with a 50-yard kickoff return for touchdown and 216 yards on eight returns. In addition, place kicker Mike Matheny nailed a 50-yard field goal for the Rage in the second quarter, knocking through three altogether.
The Rage managed just 124 yards offensively with two rushing touchdowns. In addition to Jack's second touchdown run of the year, linebacker Joe Bevis ran in a one-yard touchdown for his first score of the year. Colorado controlled the ball for 10 minutes longer than the Rage and racked up 236 total yards of offense. Ice running back Terry Washington led the way with 84-yards rushing and a touchdown.
The Rage will play one more game on the road, at Wichita next weekend, before returning home to take on the Bloomington Extreme at the Family Arena on Saturday, May 31st. Great seats remain for that night's game with prices starting at just $5. For tickets call the Rage office at 636.896.4285 or visit ragefootball.com toady.
