Rafters Take Abbreviated Fourth of July Game

Ashwaubenon, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters take Monday afternoon's game in Ashwaubenon to close out the first half, 10-2. The game was called in the seventh inning due to inclement weather.
The Rafters scored three times in the first inning. Garrett Broussard knocked in two on a single and Harry Owen brought in another on a sacrifice fly. In the second inning, Ben Ross singled and wound-up scoring on an error.
The score remained 4-0 until the fifth. Seth Stroh knocked in Jacob Igawa with a single, and Collin Tuft singled home Harry Owen.
The Rafters added three more in the sixth. Ben Ross hit an inside-the-park home run, Brady Jurgella scored on an RBI groundout by Jacob Igawa and Brendan Bobo came in on an error.
The Rockers got on the board in the sixth. Griffin Stevens hit a solo home run, and Brendan Ryan singled home Collier Cranford.
The Rafters got another in the seventh on a Ben Ross RBI single. With one out and Chase Hudson at third in the bottom of the seventh, the game was called due to inclement weather.
The Rockers are off Tuesday, July 5, and they will be back at it Wednesday, July 6, in Madison. First pitch from Warner Park is set for 6:35 p.m.
