
Racing Trades OL Reign for Rights to Chinese Star Shuang

Racing Louisville FC received the NWSL playing rights to Wang Shuang in a trade with OL Reign, the clubs announced Monday, clearing the way for Racing to pursue a contract with the Chinese national team star.
In exchange, Racing sent to OL Reign $30,000 in allocation money and a fourth-round 2023 NWSL Draft pick.
Shuang - her full name is pronounced "Wong Shwong" - is a highly decorated forward. She was named the 2018 Asian Women's Footballer of the Year and is a three-time Chinese player of the year.
The 27-year-old Shuang currently plays for her hometown club, Wuhan Jianghan University, and previously represented French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain.
Coincidentally, Racing hosts OL Reign at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lynn Family Stadium as the clubs both play on quick turnarounds from the weekend.
