Racing Louisville FC News Release
Racing Louisville has agreed to a trade sending Janine Beckie's NWSL playing rights to Portland Thorns FC, the clubs announced Friday.
In return, Racing received $75,000 in allocation money. Louisville will be paid an additional $25,000 in allocation money should Beckie and the Thorns match certain performance-based criteria during the 2022 season.
Racing had previously claimed playing rights to Beckie - a 27-year-old member of Canada's national team - through the NWSL's discovery process.
