Orlando Pride News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. - On Thursday evening, Racing Louisville FC, the newest National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise, selected Orlando Pride defender Alanna Kennedy at No. 6 overall, followed by the NWSL rights to forward Caitlin Foord three picks later.

Kennedy, 25, joined the Pride ahead of the 2017 NWSL season after helping the Western New York Flash to a league title the previous year. The Australian international would go on to appear in 59 matches in three seasons in Orlando, scoring seven goals and adding two assists in that span.

Foord, 26, was part of a multi-player trade between the Pride and Portland Thorns FC in January 2020 that brought defender Emily Sonnett to Orlando, with the Pride sending the No. 1 selection in the 2020 NWSL College Draft to Portland in return. On January 24, Foord signed with FA WSL side Arsenal, where she has spent the entirety of 2020.
