Forward Kirsten Wright underwent a successful knee scope procedure on Wednesday to clean damage from a meniscus tear in her right knee, Racing Louisville announced Friday.
Racing placed Wright on the 45-day injury list as the 25-year-old starts her rehabilitation process with the medical teams from UofL Health and Racing Louisville.
"We are glad Kirsten's surgery went well and will be supporting her along the entire process," Racing coach Bev Yanez said. "We are wishing her a healthy and speedy recovery and look forward to having her back."
"Now that my surgery is behind me, I am looking forward to starting my rehab and working toward getting back on the field," Wright said. "We have such a special and talented group this year, and I can't wait to be out there soon!
Wright is third on Racing's all-time scoring list in the club's young history, with six regular-season goals and eight total across all NWSL competitions. She was second on the team in 2023 with four scores.
A Texas Tech grad, Wright is in her third year with Racing after Louisville selected her 13th overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft. She used her extra year of eligibility that season and reported to Racing for the 2022 campaign.
Louisville's next match is at home, an April 13 tilt against the reigning NWSL regular-season champion San Diego Wave at Lynn Family Stadium.
