New York Boulders News Release
The Boulders (36-33) came into tonight tied a game and a half back in the division of the 2nd place Capitales (39-31). A 6-3 loss didn't help narrow that deficit.
Zach Wilson accounted for three of Quebec's six runs with an RBI walk and a two-run blast. The first baseman was one of three Capitales to have a multi hit game.
Down 3-0 after the first, the Boulders responded in the next frame on a Kevin Krause run resulting from a passed ball.
Fast forward to the seventh when Mikael Mogues worked an eight pitch at bat that saw him reach on an error by Wilson, allowing Jared McDonald to score. They'd tack on one in the eight when McDonald singled in Conrad Gregor.
It was a night of triplets on Justin Brantley's line. In five innings pitched, he allowed three runs (all earned) while striking out three and walking three. Tommy Lawrence would relive him and allow the same amount of runs but only in one inning of work. That would prove to be the difference maker.
Rockland has dropped back to back games for the first time since July 18th and looks to avoid their first three game series sweep since late May.
Tomorrow's game is scheduled for a 7:05pm EST start.
