(LANCASTER, CA) - Rancho Cucamonga scored four runs in the top of the first, two of which were unearned, and added six more runs in the late innings in a 11-4 victory over Lancaster in the finale of the 2010 season Monday. With the loss, Lancaster finished the season with a 54-86 mark, the worst record in the 15-year history of the franchise.

The Quakes jumped out to an early lead by scoring four runs in the top of the first off JetHawks starter Mike Modica. With runners at first and third, Gabe Jacobo belted a three-run home run over the left field wall to give the Quakes a 3-0 edge. Richard Cates added an RBI double later in the inning.

Lancaster reduced the deficit to three runs when Jay Austin hit an RBI double that plated Rene Garcia in the bottom of the third and made it a 4-1 ballgame.

After the two teams traded runs in the fifth, Rancho Cucamonga scored four runs off JetHawks reliever Jose Trinidad in the seventh. Jacobo delivered a two-run single in the frame, which ended with the Quakes holding a 9-2 advantage.

The JetHawks scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, aided in part by a pair of fielding errors by Quakes right fielder Angel Castillo.

But Rancho Cucamonga tacked on two more runs in the eighth, which made it an 11-4 contest. The JetHawks were held scoreless in the final two frames, bringing an end to the 2010 season.

With the win, the Quakes improved to 39-31 in the second half and 78-62 overall and clinched the California League Southern Division 2nd Half title. Lancaster dropped to 31-39 in the second half and 54-86 overall.

The 2011 season marks the 16th anniversary of professional baseball in the Antelope Valley, and since its inaugural game in 1996, The Hangar has produced more than 90 Major Leaguers and inducted 25 members into The JetHawks Hall of Fame.
