Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes have received a pair of post-season accolades, as the Quakes have been named the California League's Organization of the Year and Vice President - General Manager Grant Riddle has been named the Cal League's Executive of the Year.
The Organization of the Year honor is the second for the Quakes in the last three seasons.
"All of us with the Quakes' family are so proud of the year that we've had," said Riddle. "Our fan support has been top-notch again this year, from the All-Star Game here at LoanMart Field, all the way through these current playoffs. This award is truly for our fans, partners, staff and our community."
The yearly award is voted on by all ten teams within the California League and honors a "complete" baseball franchise that has demonstrated franchise stability and significant contributions to its community, league and the baseball industry.
Thanks to the award, the Quakes will now be the California League nomination at this year's Baseball Winter Meetings, where one minor league team will be named the John H. Johnson President's Award winner, honoring the top organization in all of minor league baseball.
Now in his sixth season as Vice President - General Manager, Riddle joined the Quakes back in October of 2009, when the team was purchased by Brett Sports & Entertainment. A 19-year member of the Brett Sports family, the Spokane, Washington native has overseen multiple stadium renovation projects, helping to keep LoanMart Field as one of the top ballparks in minor league baseball.
"We have a hard-working staff and I'm proud to share this award with the people who make the Quakes' experience at LoanMart Field so enjoyable for our fans and partners!"
The Quakes try to extend their playoff run tonight at LoanMart Field, as they host the High Desert in the final game in the best-of-five South Division Finals. Great seats are available for what could be the final game of the season for your Quakes, as they try to advance to the California League Championship Series for the first time since 2010.
