
Quakes Host Third Annual First Responders Night

Rancho Cucamonga, CA- Tomorrow evening, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes join up with Senator Bob Dutton, Assemblyman Bill Emerson, and County Supervisor Paul Biane for the club's third-annual First Responders Night, a game dedicated to those who protect and serve, fight fires, and save lives.
Prior to the 7:05 PM start against the Inland Empire 66ers, there will be a display of twenty First Responder vehicles on the promenade outside of The Epicenter, including command centers, fire engines, and police vehicles. There will be an awards ceremony honoring the 2007 First Responders of the Year, and the three political dignitaries will throw a simultaneous ceremonial first pitch prior to the start of the ballgame.
The First Responders who will be recognized on the field prior to the game are Detective Bill Badger of the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, Captain Chuck Lake of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department, Officer Sean Cooper of the Rancho Cucamonga CHP, Officer Rob Steenerson of the Upland Police Department, Captain Doug Davisson of the Upland Fire Department, Captain Bret Henry of the San Bernardino County Fire Department, Detective Joseph Silva of the Fontana Sherrifs Department, Paramedic Joe Napoli of American Medical Response, and Deputy Sheriff Martin Landaeta
First Responders and their families receive special ticket pricing at the box office with valid identification for Friday night's game.
"First Responders Night is a great event that we've been proud to host for three years now," indicated Quakes Executive Vice-President and General Manager Gerard McKearney. "As a community-based organization, we feel we can provide a great venue and forum for these stand-up individuals to be recognized, and we're honored to take a part in doing that."
