
Quad City's John Murray Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 29, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Quad City Mallards goaltender John Murray has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 27, 2013.

Murray started both games this past weekend in Arizona against the Sundogs and earned points in each of them. On Friday night, Murray turned away 36 shots earning his first shutout of the season and fourth in his CHL career. He followed that performance up with a 32 save effort in his team's 3-2 shootout loss to the Sundogs. On the week, the Lancaster, Pennsylvania native stopped 68 of the 70 shots he faced (.971 save percentage).
