The Tip Off
The Quad City Riverhawks hit the hardwood again after an eleven day break from action. The 'Hawks start the weekend on the road in Reading, PA Thursday and play their third game in four days Sunday at home.
Riverhawks Head to Reading
Reading, PA- This will be the first meeting of the year between Quad City and the Reading Railers. Reading is also coming off of and extended break as well. The Railers last took the floor January 26th in a 102-98 loss at home. They were to travel to take on the Maryland Nighthawks but the game was rescheduled due to Maryland having mechanical problems on the way home from Willington, N.C. The next time these two teams meet will be February 24th in Moline.
Quad City and Rockford Meet Again
Rockford, IL- Quad City and Rockford meet for the second time in the 2008 season Saturday in Rockford. The two teams last met January 12 in Rockford. The Riverhawks down the Fury 133-105 in that meeting.
Quad City had six players score in double figures paced by Ryan Edwards's 26 points. Dave Bancroft (15 points, 10 rebounds) and Antiony Hardin (22 points, 11 rebounds) each registered double-doubles for the Riverhawks. New Riverhawks John Jackson led the Fury with 19 points and 8 rebounds. The next meeting will be the two teams final meeting of the 2008 season on March 7th in Moline
Riverhawks Look to Avenge First Loss
Rockford, IL- The Quad City Riverhawks host the
Arkansas Impact Sunday in a 4:00 PM contest. The Impact handed the Riverhawks their first loss on the season 112-109 on January 18th in Little Rock.
Ryan Edwards tossed in 31 points and led five different Riverhawks scoring in double figures. Jeremy Bell led the Impact with 29 points. The two teams will meet again six days later in Little Rock before wrapping up the season series February 29 in Moline.
Quad Cities Metro Youth to Perform
Quad City Riverhawks G.M. is happy to
announce that the Quad Cities Metro Youth Precision Drill Team and Drum Corps. will be performing at half time of this Sunday's game against the Arkansas Impact. Tip off is at 4:00 PM.
Metro Youth was started in 1985 and has provided over 2,500 young people in the Quad

New Riverhawks Will Make Debut
Riverhawks Head Coach LaTroy Farrow announced earlier this week the additions of
F John Jackson, G Quinnel Brown and G Chauncey Jones. To make room for these additions the Quad City released C Aaron Harrison, G Isaiah Johnson and G Quinton Gibson. An updated roster is located on page three of the Notebook.
PBL Starts Internet Radio Show
The Premier Basketball League has announced the creation of a new Internet radio program, PBL Fast Break. The program debuts next week and will be available for download through the OurSports Central web site (www.oursportscentral.com).
PBL Fast Break will be available each week during the 2008 season and will feature news updates and interviews with players, coaches and management making league news. The program will provide listeners with an inside look at both the PBL and the game of basketball.
OurSports Central is in its third year of hosting Internet radio programs collectively known as "OurSports Central Radio." A menu of programs can be found prominently on the site's front page. The highly-regarded web site is considered the nation's preeminent source for information on minor league and second-tier professional sports.
PBL Fast Break will be produced and hosted by veteran professional basketball play-by-play announcer, Bill Hazen. Guests for first show will include co-founders Tom Doyle and Dr. Sev Hrywnak, as well as Rockford Fury coach and General Manager Dave Knickelbein.
