Quad Cities signs nine more players and names venue

Davenport, IA. The ABA Quad Cities team signed nine more players, including the nephew of the great NBA/ABA legend Alex English and announced that MaryCrest College in Davenport IA is the new home venue for the team.

The last four open tryout camps saw over 35 players compete for vet camp contracts in front of team owner Tom Mcginn and VP of Basketball Ops/Asst Coach Acie Earl. Many high profile players were signed including Joshaua English, a 6-1 swingman who played huge as the day went on in 5 on 5 games often displaying the soft touch of his uncle.

Allen Holcomb from Texas Pan American University with his 6-5 small forward frame showed his tenacity in the paint. Iowa State's Anthony Davis, a 6-5 small forward showed his big time D1 skill by making tough plays and knocking down clutch jumpshots. David Bancroft of Drake University, a 6-8, 250 pounder threw his weight around camp showing toughness under the basket. Other players signed were Piere Morgar, a 6-2 combo guard; Leroy Square, a 6-9 center/forward from Upper Iowa; Julian Jones a 6-1 combo guard from Blackhawk East JC; Andre Brysonford, a 6-5 small forward from Blackhawk College JC; Robert Lee, a 5-11 pt guard from local Augustana College.

This brings the QC invite camp to 25 players. The invite only camp will be Oct 15th, 12-3pm at Lake County Community College in Grayslake, IL for signed players only. This day, Quad Cities will trim its roster to around 17 players for Vet Camp.
