QB Arkelon Hall Signs with Sacramento Mountain Lions of UFL

MIDLAND, TX. : The West Texas Roughnecks are pleased to announce on Thursday, July 14 that former starting quarterback Arkelon Hall has been signed by the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League. Prior to being signed by Sacramento, Hall led the West Texas Roughnecks to a 10-4 record including a post-season berth in his first season as the starting quarterback in 2011.

In 12 total games played during the 2011 season, Hall threw for 2,051 yards with 38 touchdown passes to only nine interceptions and added five rushing touchdowns. Hall completed 55% of his passes this past season and capped his 2011 campaign by throwing for a season-best 314 yards and seven touchdowns in a first-round playoff game versus the Tri-Cities Fever. In his last four games played during the 2011 regular season, Hall threw for a combined 823 yards with 16 total touchdowns (14 touchdown passes) and one interception. Hall earned VidSwap.com IFL Offensive Player of the Week honors after completing 19 of 27 passes for 281 yards, and posting six total touchdowns in a 66-23 win over the Amarillo Venom back on April 23.

Hall (6'2', 225 lbs.) began his collegiate career at Washington State in 2005 but later transferred to the College of the Sequoias where he threw for 2,398 yards with 13 touchdowns in 2007, and was an Academic All-American honoree. Hall transferred to the University of Memphis and started in 11 of 13 games at quarterback in 2008. Hall threw for 2,275 yards with 12 touchdowns and was one of three players nationally to throw, catch, and rush for a touchdown in 2008. He finished 69th nationally in total passing yards and 50th in passing yards per game (206.8) in 2008. In 2009, Hall played in five of 12 games with three starts at quarterback and threw for 332 yards. Hall ended his career ranked 10th all-time at Memphis in passing yards (2,607) and eighth in pass completions (235).

The Sacramento Mountain Lions will begin training camp for the 2011 season on Friday, July 22 and players will report to camp on Tuesday, July 19. Sacramento opens the 2011 UFL regular season at home against the Omaha Nighthawks on Sunday, August 14.
