Port Huron Prowlers News Release
(Port Huron, MI) Danville's playoff hopes became a little more dashed as they drop game 2 of the weekend series with Port Huron, 7-4.
First period both teams were back and forth on the scoreboard, but the Prowlers edged out a one goal lead going into the first intermission. Tom Kilgore netted two goals with Zach Zulkanycz adding a goal. Fred Hein and Justin Brausen found mesh to keep the Dashers within a goal.
Eric Masters ipicked up his 2nd goal of the weekend to tie the game at three, eight minutes into the middle frame. Matias Kasek put the Prowlers back on top 4-3 with 5 minutes left to go in the 2nd and held that lead going into the intermission.
Danville again tied the game at 4 with Dustin Henning's goal 7:22 into the third. However, the Prowlers would prevail with the goal ahead goal from Artem Stupnikov recording the game winner with 91 seconds left in regulation. Another empty netter from Arter Drindrozhik and a hat trick goal from Tom Kilgore would seal the deal for the Prowlers late in the third period. Port Huron extends their lead to 13 points ahead of Danville in the FHL standings.
Port Huron will host Carolina Sunday afternoon before a road trip next Friday Saturday in Elmira, then Sunday in Watertown. Danville will have a three-game series next weekend with Friday's game on the road in Mentor and welcome the Ice Breakers to Danville on Saturday and Sunday.
