Prowlers opening day roster set in 'Stone'

GREENSBORO, NC- The Greensboro Prowlers have announced their opening day roster for the 2003 season, for the first game that will take place on Saturday, April 5th when facing the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers. These same two teams began the 2002 season, when the Prowlers won their first road game in franchise history.
The roster will feature four-year Prowlers Jason Gibson, WR/DB, who is the leading receiver in franchise history with 1,640 yards and 28 TDs in 134 catches. Four-year players Sigmund Platt, who is the team's leading rusher, and Cranston Johnson who is the interception leader with nine will also be returning. Greensboro also brings back wide receiver Antoine Calloway, who became the first player in franchise history to make 100+ receptions and 1,000 yards in a single season.
The addition of Steve Jerry as the Prowlers newest Head Coach will bring an influx of players from the Roanoke Steam and various spots from around the af2. Greensboro has brought former Carolina Rhinos Mal Lawyer, Caleb Slover, and Corey Sullivan to bolster the offensive threats. Defensively the Prowlers have made significant additions with Thaddeus Bullard and former Roanoke Steam standout Abdullah Wiggins, who will add the pass rushing ends that the team has lacked prior to the 2003 season. On special teams, Greensboro will again have the services of speedster Demeco Archangel, who played parts of just two season and leads the team with 839 yards and five touchdowns. Coach Jerry also brought kicker Josh Jones, formerly of the Ragsdale High School, from the Roanoke Steam who will be looking to improve his 196 career points in his af2 career.
The Greensboro Prowlers fourth season in af2 kicks off in April 2003. Season tickets for the Prowlers are currently on sale, ranging from $60.00 for End Zone and Upper Level seats to $200.00 for On Field seats. For students and seniors, tickets are as low as $48.00.
