(Port Huron, MI) -Austin Daae (pronounced Doe), returned to the Port Huron line up with a bang on Friday night, recording six points in a 7-1 Prowler victory over visiting Mentor at McMorran Arena.
After being assigned to the Prowlers by Birmingham (SPHL) this week, it took Daae just three minutes to light the lamp in the first period and open the scoring in the game. Daae would finish with three goals and three assists on the night.
Dalton Jay added a goal and three assists, while Yianni Liarakos scored twice (with an assist as well), and Matt Graham added three assists for Port Huron. Josh Colten added a power play goal, one of three scored by the Prowlers in the game.
Corey Simons made 30 saves for the win, but lost a shutout bid with 3:59 to play in the third, when Brett Oldaker scored on a breakaway for the Ice Breakers.
The win snapped a two game losing streak for the Prowlers, while Mentor lost its sixth straight game to open their first season in the Federal Hockey League. The two teams will play again on Saturday night in Port Huron, with puck drop set for 6 PM.
