Prowlers Comeback Falls Short

(Port Huron, MI) Danbury owned in the first period as they would outshoot Port Huron in the first period, 21-8. Of those 21 shots Danbury could only bury one of them. It came off the stick of Brett Liscomb 8:35 into the first period. That's all the scoring that would happen Danbury would take a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

Prowlers would get the equalizer 5 minutes into the 2nd period. Brian Soskin would find twine on the power play, with assists going to Chris Leveille and Matt Fuller. That would be all the Prowlers could muster in the 2nd. Danbury would fire back with three straight unanswered goals. Team Leading point getter Tyler Gjurich would put the Titans back up 1 with his 69th point of the season. Aaron Atwell would score a minute and half later off of a Prowler turnover in the neutral zone. 2:08 after the Atwell marker, Mike Driscoll would hit the mesh to put Danbury up 3, Gjurich would get his 70th point of the season assisting on the Driscoll goal along with Ryan Patsch. Danbury would be up 4-1 after two frames.

In the final frame the Prowlers down 4-1 and they would get what exactly what they needed. Two quick goals in the first 5:17 of the third, from Austin Daae and Chris Leveille would make it a one shot game. Danbury would respond though, Brett Liscomb would put the titans back up 2 with a little over 13 minutes left to go in the third period. Another late rally started by the Prowlers as Scott Witmyer would just barley sneak the puck across the goal line to bring Port Huron back within one. Under 3 minutes left to go Port Huron would tie the game. Chris Leveille's 2nd goal of the game and 4th point of the night would make it 5-5. We would head into O.T.

In overtime the Prowlers comeback would fall just short. Tyler Gjurich would score the game winner for his 2nd goal of the night and the Danbury Titans, get their first win in Port Huron with a 6-5 victory in overtime.
