Port Huron Prowlers News Release
(Port Huron, MI) The Elmira Enforcers kept their foot on the gas pedal in the third period to keep the Prowlers pointless on Friday night, fending off a big comeback effort from the home team.
Elmira netted the first four goals of the game coming from four different skaters. Kyle Stevens and Brenden Hussey in the first. Marko Novosel, and Brandon Vuic in the middle frame.
Port Huron would finally get on the board with a short handed goal from Matt Robertson, It lead the comeback effort as Ryan Rotondi and Tom Kilgore hit the back of the net to cut Elmira's lead to 1 going into the second intermission. Port Huron scored 3 goals in the final 5:09 of the second period.
However, the Enforcer offense was too much to handle in the third period. Brenden Hussey netted the insurance marker putting Elmira up two goals with eleven minutes left to go in the third. The Prowlers pulled their netminder on a power play with 2 minutes left to go. Two empty net goals by Glen Patterson and Brenden Hussey sealed the deal and a 7-3 win for Elmira.
