Sioux Falls, SD-- The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today that defenseman, Nate Prosser has committed to play college hockey at Colorado College for the 2006-07 season.

Colorado College is a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) where they have won eight league championships and two NCAA Titles (1950, 1957). The Tigers are currently ranked #7 in the country and 5-1-0 on the season. Last year, the Tigers finished with a 20-16-3 record.

"He's really developed into one of the best defensemen in the league, stated Stampede Head Coach Mark Kaufman. "It's been a childhood dream for Nate to attend Colorado College and the Stampede organization is proud to have helped him achieve his goal."

Prosser will become the fourth Stampede alumni player to play collegiate hockey at Colorado College. Marty Sertich, Jesse Stokke and Scott Thauwald are currently playing with the Tigers.

Prosser and the Stampede return home this weekend for a pair of games. On Friday, the Stampede face Blake Wheeler and the Green Bay Gamblers. Wheeler was the #5 overall pick of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. On Saturday, the Herd will entertain West Division rival Omaha at the Sioux Falls Arena.
