
Prospect Elbert placed on 7-Day DL

Columbus Catfish News Release
Savannah, GA â Dodgers' 2004 first round draft selection LHP Scott Elbert was placed on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive April 9th, with a right abdominal strain. Elbert was the opening day starter for the Catfish on Friday, April 8th and received a no-decision in a 6-3 loss against Savannah. RHP Jesus Castillo will start in place of Elbert on Wednesday, April 13th in Charleston (SC).
Replacing Elbert on the roster will be RHP Zach Hammes who was recalled from extended spring training in Vero Beach. Hammes has spent his last two seasons in Columbus going a combined 12-17 with 146 strikeouts in 55 games.
The opener at Golden Park is on Thursday, April 14th at 6:00pm and will conclude with a post-game Fireworks display. Tickets are available by calling the Catfish box office at (706) 571-8866.
