Promotional Schedule Revealed For 2008-09 Flames Season

Moline, IL- The Quad City Flames today announced the team's promotional schedule for the 2008-09 season. The Flames kick the season off with the second annual "River of Red" and close the season with Player Awards Night. The 2008-09 season will also mark the introduction of several new giveaway items including: beanie hats, all-star posters, Dr. Seuss Flames Hats and the first ever Flames bobblehead giveaway.

The Flames host the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday, October 11th for Opening Night 2008. The first 6,000 fans will receive "River of Red" rally towels courtesy of Genesis Health System. Fans are also encouraged to wear red clothing to create the "River of Red" effect while welcoming the Flames back to the Quad Cities. Opening Weekend continues on Sunday, October 12th vs. Peoria. The first 5,000 fans at the game vs. the Rivermen will receive Flames magnetic schedules.

The first half of the 2008-09 season features six giveaways and a pair of post-game skates. On Saturday, November 1st, the team is previewing the presidential election by giving away candidate masks. After the game, fans are invited to participate in the first post-game skate of the season. On Saturday, November 15th, the Flames are giving away youth hockey jerseys to the first 1,500 fans under the age of 12. The first 7,500 fans at the Flames' Friday, November 21st face-off with Chicago will receive a Flames window decal. On Friday, December 5th, team photos will be given out to the first 5,000 fans. Beanie hats will be available to the first 3,000 fans on Saturday, December 27th when the Flames host the Houston Aeros. The Flames host their second post-game skate of the season on Saturday, January 3rd. John Deere Community Night is slated for Friday, January 9th. The first 1,000 fans will receive John Deere Hats. All fans will be offered a $3.00 discount on individual tickets courtesy of John Deere.

The second half of the 2008-09 home schedule begins with a poster giveaway featuring the Flames' 2009 AHL All-Star representative on Saturday, January 31st. One week later, the team hosts 4-H Teddy Bear Toss Night and a post-game skate on Saturday, February 7th. On Saturday, February 28th, the first 1,500 fans under the age of 12 will receive a Dr. Seuss Flames Hat. A Kids Club Post-Game Skate is scheduled for Sunday, March 8th following the Flames' game with Milwaukee. An annual highlight of the Quad City hockey calendar, The Genesis Jersey Auction featuring a St. Patrick's Day themed jersey, is scheduled for Saturday, March 14th. The first bobblehead night in Flames history will take place on Friday, March 20th. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive bobbleheads featuring the 2007-08 Flames Fan Favorite Award winner Carsen Germyn. Fan Appreciation Night is set for Saturday, April 4th. Lucky fans will receive a specialty themed jersey off the players' backs following the game with Iowa. The team concludes the 2008-09 home schedule with Player Awards Night on Friday, April 10th vs. Iowa.
