Privateers' St. Pierre Signed by CHL's RiverKings

January 26, 2011 - Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL)
Watertown Privateers News Release

For the second time in as many weeks, the 1000 Islands Privateers lose a key player to the Central Hockey League. Starting goalie Josselin St. Pierre is headed to the Mississippi RiverKings on a temporary loan. The 24-year-old from Embrun, Ontario has dazzled Northcountry fans with his aggressive netminding and skillful saves. He was the inaugural Federal Hockey League goalie of the month for November, or "Jo-vember" as the marketing team decided to rename it. His strong backstopping gave the Privateers a solid defense that propelled the team to the upper echelon of the FHL. He was leading the league in goals against average and wins before an upper body injury in Danbury sidelined him. The younger brother of former NHL skater Martin St. Pierre knows the path to the top is long and challenging but believes this is a huge step to get to "The Show."

The team visits Rome Thursday and Akwesasne on Saturday. The Warriors and Privateers play Sunday afternoon at 3 at Bonnie Castle. The Privateers are offering a family four-pack, featuring two adult tickets, two child tickets, 4 vouchers redeemable for choice of: hamburger, hot dog, or chicken fingers, and 4 Pepsi products, all for $40. For more information on this and other Privateers' information, call 315-382-5656.

The 1000 Islands Privateers operate in Alexandria Bay and are a founding franchise in the Federal Hockey League. The Privateers play at the Bonnie Castle Recreation Center in Alexandria Bay. "The future is now" in the Federal Hockey League as the top talent play professional hockey with a chance to advance their careers.
