Privateers Start Off 2014 Beating Danbury

The Watertown Privateers rang in the New Year with a convincing 4-1 win over defending league champion the Danbury Whalers.

The Privateers opened the scoring in the first period with Andrew Harrison getting the goal from Liam Tully and Beni Berisha. The Whalers tied the score late in the first with a defensive breakdown with Ryan Patsch from David Lun and Tim Richter.

After a scoreless second period the Privateers got third period goal from Harrison, his second of the night from Cobly Spooner and Britt Oullette. Watertown then got scores from James Ryerse assisted by Dane Ericksen and Spooner, and a goal from JR Harris from Dustin Skinner and Chase Tippin.

Whaler Kevin Hoy faced 25 shots stopping 21. Privateers goalie Bryan Kalczynski stopped 30 of 31 in his debut.
