WATERTOWN- The 1000 Islands Privateers opened their two-game home opener against the Dayton Demonz on a one-game losing streak. Dayton extended the losing streak to two games. The Privateers lost the first-game of a two-game home stand against the Demonz 9-5.

The Dayton Demonz opened up the scoring on a goal by Marcus Pryde 9:46 into the period. The Privateers were not able to answer in the period, despite some close looks on the goal.

In the second period the Demonz opened up the game. 2:40 into the second period Jarkko Leppanen scored the first goal of the second period. At the 4:10 mark Pryde scored his second goal of the night giving the Demonz a 3-0 lead. Jason Hill scored the Demonz's forth goal of the game at the 6:07 mark. The final score of the period came on a Ahmed Mahfouz goal with 5:05 left in the period.

The second period was tumultuous for the Privateers as Adam McAllister, Zak Ray, and Chase Tippin were all penalized.

The third period opened up similar to the first two periods with the Demoz Jason Hill scoring 30 seconds into the period. Dayton followed that with Marcus Pryde's third goal of the night 1:16 into the period.

The Privateers made the game interesting with a goal by McAllister 6:14 into the period for the home team's first goal of the period. McAllister's goal was followed with a Peter Campbell score at the 7:56 mark. Less than a minute later the Privateers Chris Greene followed with a shorthanded goal at 8:49. With 8:55 left in the third the Privateers scored their fifth goal of the night on a Carter Trevisani powerplay.

The Privateers momentum ended as the Demonz Brayden Metz scored at the 11:37 mark. The Demonz Jason Hill scored the final goal of the night on a Jason Hill shorthand with 4:20 left in the period.

The Privateers will attempt to come back from their third loss of the season tomorrow night against the Demonz at 7:35. The Privateers enter the game with a 4-3 record, while the Dayton Demonz will enter the game at 4-1.
