Iowa Cubs News Release
Chicago Cubs pitcher Mark Prior has purchased a half-page advertisement in the Friday edition of the Des Moines Register to thank the fans for their support last Sunday at Sec Taylor Stadium.
Prior, making his third and final minor league rehabilitation start with Iowa on Sunday, received three standing ovations during the game and a curtain call from the sellout crowd after he was pulled from the game in the sixth inning. Tickets for the game sold out so quickly, Sunday's game was televised statewide.
The ad states: "I want to take the opportunity to thank all the Cubs fans in the state of Iowa for your support last Sunday. You made my trip to Des Moines memorable and I will never forget my experiences at Sec Taylor Stadium. THANK YOU and GO CUBS!"
