Prince George Cougars News Release

PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club have acquired forward Matthew Mosher (00) from the Saskatoon Blades, for a ninth-round selection in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, the team announced Tuesday.

Mosher, 17, was a third-round pick, 45^th overall, by the Blades in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft, and prior to making the jump to the WHL, he spent the last two seasons playing Midget Prep at the Delta Hockey Academy (DHA) in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). Last season Mosher collected 13 goals and 21 points in 29 games with DHA and the year prior he won the CSSHL Prep Division Championship.

"Mosher is young asset that gives us added depth to our forward group. He was a highly touted Bantam prospect and someone we've watched closely and when the opportunity presented itself to acquire him, we couldn't pass it up," said General Manager Todd Harkins.

Mosher made his WHL debut with the Blades on December 27^th, 2016 against the Prince Albert Raiders, and has played in four career games over the past two seasons.

Mosher will join his new team this week, before the Cougars head out to Vancouver and Kelowna this weekend to face the Giants and Rockets in two key BC Division match ups.
