FLORENCE, SC -- With last night's 5-4 win over the Columbia Inferno in game five of the Southeast Division Semifinals, the Pee Dee Pride advanced to the Southeast Division Finals. They will open that series tomorrow night against the division's top seed, the Greenville Grrrowl, at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville at 7:05 p.m. Greenville beat Florida last night 4-3 in the fifth game of their series. This series is the only one of the four division-final series to feature the top two seeds.

Last night, the Pride took a 4-3 lead early in the third period on a Kevin Haupt goal, only to see Columbia's Mike Legg score a breakaway goal with just 4:47 left in regulation. Just under two minutes later, Gregor Krajnc tipped home a shot, giving the Pride the 5-4 win.

During the regular season, the two teams met seven times. Pee Dee was 3-3-1 against Greenville (3-1-0 at home, 0-2-1 at Greenville), while the Grrrowl went 4-3-0 against the Pride (3-0-0 at home, 1-3-0 at Pee Dee). Allan Sirois led the Pride in head-to-head scoring with eight points, while Ryan Stewart and Sean Venedam paced the Grrrowl with seven points apiece. Pride goaltender David Brumby enjoyed success against Greenville, both with Pee Dee and Columbus. Brumby was 3-1-2 against the Grrrowl with a 2.17 goals against average and a save percentage of 925. He made his Pride debut in a 3-2 shootout win over the Grrrowl on February 28.

Dany Bousquet is the Pride's hottest player going into the series. Bousquet has scored at least one point in each of the Pride's last 19 games. His six playoff points are tied with Sirois for the team lead, and just four points behind the league leader. Greenville is led by rookie Simon Gamache, who has seven points.

After Friday night's opening game, the two teams will meet again Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. at Greenville in game two. The Pride will host games three and four at the Florence Civic Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, both starting at 7:00 p.m. If necessary, game five will be at the Bi-Lo Center next Thursday, April 18 at 7:05 p.m.

Tickets for the Pride home games are on sale at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
