(Nashua, N.H., August 20, 2008) The Nashua Pride edged the Ottawa Rapidz, 4-3, at Ottawa Stadium on Wednesday night.

Pride starting pitcher Hideki Nagasaka (8-5) earned the victory going six innings, giving up two runs, on six hits, two walks and four strike outs. The Pride bullpen held the lead with Mike Joyce and Brett Palanski each pitching scoreless innings. Closer Adam Piechowski notched his third save of the season, giving up one run and striking out two in the ninth.

The Pride received no RBI hits in the game, with third baseman Argenis Tavarez going 2-for-3 with a triple and a sacrifice fly. Second baseman Ismael Castro went 2-for-4 in the game with a double and a RBI fielder's choice while shortstop Sandy Almonte had the other Pride RBI, driving in a run on a sacrifice fly and also seeing a run score of a double play ball.

Rapidz starter Tanner Watson (3-7) suffered the loss, leaving the game due to injury after two and one-third innings of work. He gave up a pair of runs, on three hits, one walk and two strike outs. Relievers Noel Baca III and Reid Price were each tagged for a run.

Ottawa first baseman Jake Daubert went 2-for-4 in the game with a double, while third baseman Nate Hall went 1-for-3 with a RBI. Second baseman Jose De Los Santos also notched a RBI and finished the night 1-for-5.

The Pride and Rapidz will close out their three game series on Thursday night, at 7:05pm, when Nashua sends Lance Stevens (6-6) to the mound against Ottawa's Mike Kusiewicz (2-8).
