Tri-City Storm News Release

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm begin this weekend's home series against the Fargo Force tonight by hosting "Concrete Cares Night" at the Viaero Center. Concrete Cares Night, presented by Kearney Concrete, incorporates Tri-City's annual "Paint the Ice" event and the initiatives of Concrete Cares of Nebraska. Tonight's game will be played on ice at the Viaero Center that was painted with messages supporting and honoring those affected by cancer. Tonight's game will include a commemorative puck giveaway and a post-game jersey auction. The Storm will wear specialty jerseys as part of tonight's festivities. Tickets for tonight's game can be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.

Tri-City (9-10-2-1) returns home to the Viaero Center in Kearney tonight as the 6th place team in the USHL's Western Conference standings following a 6-3 road win on Sunday against in state rival Lincoln. In the game, forward Sam Rhodes netted the first two goals of his USHL career in his seventh game with the team this season. Also scoring goals for Tri-City in the win were forwards Nick Capone, Benji Eckerle, Colby Ambrosio, and defenseman Mitchell Miller. The win provided the Storm with a bounce back win following an 8-5 loss on Saturday night, and the victory also snapped the team's three game losing skid. Tonight's game is the third game in a seven game regular season series between Tri-City and Fargo. Earlier this season, at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND, Tri-City split a two game road series with Fargo. Though Tri-City currently sits in the final playoff spot in the Western Conference standings, the team could rise as high as 2nd conference standings with a home game sweep over Fargo this weekend.

Fargo (10-6-1-0) enters tonight's game as the 3rd place team in the Western Conference standings following a 5-3 home win over the Dubuque Fighting Saints one week ago. In the win, the Force got goals from Aaron Grounds, Tristan Broz, Zach Faremouth, and Ondrej Pavel (2). Tonight's game marks the beginning of a five-game road trip for Fargo that will feature games against Tri-City, Sioux City, and Sioux Falls. Fargo is one of the league's hottest teams entering the weekend. The Force have won seven of the last ten games including six of the last seven. Last season, each team recorded two wins in the four game season series. The Force hold a 10-6-2-0 record against the Storm in games played over the last five seasons between the two opponents. Fargo will play an additional road game against the Storm tomorrow night at the Viaero Center to complete its two-game weekend.

Tonight's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. To purchase tickets to Storm home games at the Viaero Center, visit www.StormHockey.com or call 308-338-8144.
