LAST WEEK: The Pittsburgh Power led wire-to-wire in a 65-26 victory over the New Orleans VooDoo. The Power saw a dominant performance from rookie wide receiver Tyrone Goard who finished the game with seven receptions, five of which went for scores. Pittsburgh matched their franchise record for points at home on their way to winning their sixth-straight contest. Philadelphia dropped their last contest on the road to the Tampa Bay Storm 56-49. Philadelphia's pass attempt fell to the turf as time expired moving the Soul to .500 on the season. Philadelphia was outscored 22-0 in the fourth quarter.
POWER TO WATCH | OFFENSE: Power wide receiver Tyrone Goard has been on fire for the Power over the past two weeks. In wins over Cleveland and New Orleans, Goard has 12 receptions for 156 yards and nine touchdowns. Goard is leading the Power with 16 touchdown receptions in his rookie season in the Arena Football League.
SOUL TO WATCH | OFFENSE: Philadelphia is the most dominant running team in the pass-heavy AFL. They possess one of the most prolific fullbacks in League history in Derrick Ross, who against Tampa Bay set the AFL touchdown rushing record with 129 scores over his four-year AFL career. Ross leads the AFL with 338 yards on the ground with 23 rushing touchdowns.
POWER TO WATCH | DEFENSE: Jake Killeen recorded 1.5 sacks against the VooDoo last Saturday giving him 6.5 in 2014, a new Power single-season record. He now chases Dominie Pittman's career franchise record, which he is four sacks away from. Sergio Gilliam picked off VooDoo quarterback Ryan Perrilloux late in the Week 13 win, giving him 11 over his two seasons with the Power. He now needs one interception to surpass Chris LeFlore for the franchise record.
SOUL TO WATCH | DEFENSE: Rayshaun Kizer has been a stalwart in the Soul secondary for the past three seasons. Over his five-season AFL career, Kizer has 54 interceptions which places him third all time in Arena Football League history. In 2014, Kizer leads the Soul with 66.5 tackles and six interceptions.
