
Preview: Lexington SC Seeks Revenge against Forward Madison

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Lexington Sporting Club is set to face off against Forward Madison in the final of three matches the clubs will play against each other during Lexington's inaugural professional season. The match is set for 6:00 p.m. ET and will take place at Breese Stevens Field in Madison, Wis.
Lexington SC (7-13-9, 30 points) is coming off a 5-3 loss against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC that saw the club remain 9th in the league standings. It also officially eliminated the club from playoff contention.
Forward Madison (11-9-9, 42 points) will enter the match on the back of a 2-0 road loss against Charlotte Independence. Despite the result, Madison is still trying to secure itself a spot in the playoffs, currently sitting in 6th in the league table.

GAME NOTES
Lexington SC has faced off with Forward Madison twice before this season. The first meeting, at Toyota Stadium, ended in a 0-0 draw, the first point in Lexington SC history. The second, in Wisconsin, saw the home side win 3-2.
Lexington SC will finish the 2023 season with an interim head coach, former assistant Nacho Novo, after former head coach Sam Stockley returned to his primary role as sporting director.
Ates Diouf has been an incredible forward for Lexington SC thus far this season. Leading the squad with a staggering 14 goals to his name, Diouf is third in the league in the Golden Boot race.
Christian Chaney is the man to watch for Madison. Standing as the club's leading goal scorer, Chaney has found the net 10 times this season, with only one coming from the penalty spot. He also scored the third, and ultimately deciding goal in Madison's 3-2 win over Lexington on June 22.
