Kansas City Comets News Release
INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The longtime rivalry between the Missouri Comets (13-3) and the Milwaukee Wave (10-6) will continue this Sunday when Coach Vlatko Andonovski's team visits the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The match, which will kick off at 2:05 pm CT, will be streamed live on Go Live Sports Cast.
Both teams have already secured a spot in the 2015/16 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Playoffs. However, the series tiebreaker is on the line as the Wave handed Missouri its first regular season loss in nearly two years on December 4 before the Comets leveled the series a month later. In addition, the All-time series are tied 12-12.
The last time Missouri stepped on Milwaukee's famous black turf, the Comets earned a hard fought and nail biting 8-7 shootout victory on 2014's New Year's Eve after Tony Walls equalized with 0.2 seconds left in the match forcing the ten-minute overtime and eventually the penalty kick shootout.
Missouri is coming from back-to-back wins over the Baltimore Blast and the Chicago Mustangs, both at home. On the other hand, the Wave dropped their last game 9-5 to the Syracuse Silver Knights two weeks ago.
A victory for the Comets would put them a step closer from clinching the Central Division Championship for the second consecutive season. However, both Chicago and Milwaukee could still finish first depending on each other's results.
The Wave's offensive trio of Ian Bennett, Max Ferdinand, and Marcio Leite has scored a combined of 59 goals and a total of 89 points, while Comets' team captain Vahid Assadpour stands second in the league standings with 45 points off of 19 goals and 26 assists.
In goal, Missouri's Boris Pardo and Milwaukee's Nick Vorberg stand fourth and fifth overall with a 4.86 and a 5.06 GAA respectively. However, goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra has recovered from injury and might get the start for the Wave after appearing in goal for the first time this season against Cedar Rapids two weeks ago.
Missouri's only absence will be midfielder Milan Ivanovic who is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered two weeks ago.

Next up, the Comets remain on the road for back-to-back games against the Baltimore Blast and the Syracuse Silver Knights on Friday 2/19 and Sunday 2/21 respectively.
