Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. (January 11, 2006) - Looking to add some size to its receiving corps, the Orlando Predators announced the signing of Scott Cloman on Wednesday. To make room on the roster, the team waived OL/DL Derrick Kennard Jr.
Cloman, 6-3, 218, went to camp with the Washington Redskins in both 2003 and 2004. He began his professional career with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2000. He was selected in the XFL draft by the Orlando Rage, where he played the entire season - splitting time between the active roster and taxi squad. After the league folded, Cloman joined the New York Dragons for the final three games of the regular season. He made one start, catching nine passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns.
Originally attending Southern University on a baseball scholarship, Cloman switched to football after his sophomore season. He finished his career with 18 receptions for 301 yards and three touchdowns.
In announcing the roster moves, Predators head coach Jay Gruden noted that "Scott gives us a big receiver who runs outstanding pass routes. You can tell that he has been well coached in the NFL training camps."
