Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 27, 2006) -- The Orlando Predators reached agreement with lineman Delanio Taylor on a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Taylor was an Arena Football League rookie in 2006. He was initially waived in training camp and signed to the Orlando Predators practice squad on Feb. 18. He spent the majority of the season splitting time between the practice squad and the injured reserve list before being activated to the 24-man roster on May 10. Taylor made his AFL debut in the regular season-finale against Austin. He was on the Predators 24-man roster for all three playoff games, but was inactive for each of them.

Taylor played two seasons in the "arenafootball2" league and was a standout at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. He was used primarily as a center in both the "af2" league and in his one game with the Predators. "Delanio showed improvement throughout the season," Player Personnel Director Les Moss said. "He will have an opportunity to compete for the back-up center job for the Predators next year."

The signing now gives Orlando 12 players under contract for the 2007 season.
